WBA Creative Expressions is an ever-changing opportunity for self-expression with buttons. Join us if you are creative, want to become creative, or enjoy seeing buttons used in creative ways!
On the third Tuesday of each month, hosted by Gina Barrett, we will gather to view the work of artists, makers and collectors. Each month will have a theme, and we hope you will send us images of your creations - and your favorite button - that fit the theme so we can share them with the group.
This year, we are going to add another aspect to our Creative Tuesdays - YOUR buttons, mounted creatively! Many of you don’t feel as though you are “creative”, but you probably are! So, each month we will have a PDF download that you can use as a mount for your buttons.
Simply download, print out, and glue/fix the sheet to your mounting card. It’s a good idea to only glue the edges, so that the glue won’t interfere with your buttons in any way. Then, enjoy a day (or more!) of looking through YOUR collection to choose the buttons that fit the theme to mount.
Other creative ideas you might like to try:
Buttons that you’ve made, or a beautiful handmade button in your collection
A way of wearing buttons or decorating items with buttons.
An artistic mounting of your buttons that follows the theme
Jewelry or other artistic uses of buttons to inspire
Anything else that involves buttons (with extra points for “no harm”)
Our aim is to inspire everyone to enjoy their buttons!

Please submit all images to Gina by the Saturday before the meeting so they can be included in the slideshow; alternatively, have your image ready to screen share during our meeting.

| Aug | LEATHER & LACE We’ve all got those leather- and leather-look buttons. What can we create using those? Something celebrating the warm tones, or try adding lace (or lacy buttons) to soften them. Please send images by 15 August |
| Sep | Our Fall Affair – THE WRITTEN WORD Stories, Prose, Poems, etc. Presentation Special Button Unveil Unveil of six creative challenge entries and the special challenge! |
